To measure the effectiveness of your process, should you use OEE or TEEP?

Writer: Keivan HeidariKeivan Heidari

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a metric used to evaluate the effectiveness of a manufacturing operation,. It considers the equipment's availability (excluding planned downtime), performance efficiency, and output quality (first-pass yield).

Less downtime and produce more
Planned Downtime should be minimized

Total Effective Equipment Performance (TEEP) is a metric that expands on OEE by considering equipment utilization and all losses, including planned and unplanned downtime, changeover time, and speed losses.

OEE focuses on the equipment's efficiency, while TEEP considers the equipment's overall effectiveness, including utilization. TEEP provides a more comprehensive analysis of equipment effectiveness by considering both planned and unplanned downtime, making it a more holistic metric than

OEE.
